We had a successful festival again with John Lee Hooker, Jr. getting funky, Shane Dwight smoking the strat and as always Cassie Taylor, the Queen of The Stomp, making us feel the music from within.
We were lead off by Blue Plate Special and they jammed for almost 2 hours nonstop and finished up with one of my all time favorites, Keep On Smilin by Wet Willie. They even invited me to sing back up!
I hope all the attendee’s had time to visit with the folks from The Kitchen and The Rare Breed—they provide vital social services to the homeless and poverty stricken in Springfield and Greene County.
With the money we generated we should be able to provide 500-600 meals a month for the next year as well provide the various essentials it takes to live un-sheltered.
Looking toward May 2014 already having made contact with a couple of artists who are excited about our mission.
Until then, keep your spirits up and thank you,
