Stomp The Blues #6 is fast approaching and it seems our event gets here faster every year and it makes me feel as if Christmas is coming. One of the most important issues I have not shared for the most part is how we distribute our proceeds and what we do on a year round basis.
The proceeds go toward a yearlong meal sharing program that Paige operates by providing meals four to five times a month at The Veteran’s Coming Home Center and Harmony House. We also provide tarps, gloves, hot hands, socks, sock hats, snacks, flashlights, occasional feminine products, under garments and coats and sweatshirts to Bill’s Place, VCHC and The Rare Breed Youth Center.
We were fortunate enough this past year to provide two HP tablets to the staff at The Rare Breed, Christmas gift bags to the 14 kids participating in the Transitional Living Program and a check for $4,750 for The Rare Breed Youth Services.
We also donated directly to WIN or Women In Need of the Ozarks an amount of $2,250.00. WIN is a homeless prevention program that helps working women in times of dire need. They give a onetime gift for things such as car repairs, utility bills etc. This is a very valuable resource for our community.
So I hope you can determine that we are very conservative stewards of any money we receive and we place an extreme value in how it is shared to meet your expectations.
Thank you for all your support and we hope to see you May 21, 2016 at Stomp The Blues Out of Homelessness #6 @ Community Blood Center of the Ozarks.
